International Smart Cities School 2020
The “International Smart Cities School: imagination, planning, governance and tools”, is one of the initiatives of the Tomorrow’s Cities Lab. This year, in a winter edition because of the Covid-19 emergency, it foresees a ten days program organized in collaboration with the “Smart Cityness Festival”.
The School aims to promote the city development in the smart, sustainable and resilient way through the more suited technologies according to a strategic and systemic vision. Moreover, the School aims to create an eco-system of academies, institutions and enterprises to create networking opportunities to promote virtuous exchanges and knowledge transfer.
The School target are public officers, graduates and professionals and is based on a design thinking approach integrated with lectures and practical case illustrations. The School aims to distinguish itself thanks to an interdisciplinary and multistakeholders approach to the subject, providing the participants with the tools and capabilities they need to operate in the tomorrow’s cities.
Each year the School faces the smart city concept from a different point of view. The focus of the 2020 will be on “Energies of, and for, the city”.
The teaching plan includes:
Webinar will focused on the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, case studies of European cities, theoretical insights and practical approaches on the year’s topic, enterprise’ products and solutions.
Co-working laboratories are conceived as moments of interdisciplinary design and planning between participants and experts. The teams, each composed by 5 participants, will work on the year’s topic applying it on the design of an area (i.e. neighborhood) of the city of Cagliari.
